UNITED WATER SEEKS RATE RECOVERY FOR $187 MILLION IN CUSTOMER INVESTMENTS
Company officials have announced today thatUnited Water New Jersey has filed an application with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) for rate relief, seeking an additional $29 million in revenues to cover the costs associated with investments made on behalf of its customers that are necessary to maintain safe and reliable water service. The company serves residential homes and workplaces and supplies ample water for fire protection for approximately 850,000 people throughout Bergen, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Passaic and Sussex counties.
United Water to Conduct Annual Emergency Drill
Please be advised that United Water will host and conduct an annual emergency drill this evening at its Haworth Water Treatment Plant on Lake Shore Drive in Haworth, NJ. The drill will simulate an emergency condition at the plant.“These drills are conducted to test the quality of our response to potentially critical emergencies,” said Laurent Carrot, vice president and general manager. “We can never be too prepared.”The drill will include a team of company personnel, as well as various local fire, police and emergency medical departments. “We are thankful to local emergency responders for their participation.”

United Water New Jersey is preparing to handle heavy rain that may occur in the next few days as a result of Joaquin, now categorized as a Hurricane by the National Weather Service. The company operates dams, reservoirs and wells that supply drinking water to approximately 850,000 people in Bergen and parts of Hudson, Passaic, Sussex, Morris and Hunterdon Counties.
UNITED WATER CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF OUTSTANDING WATER FROM ITS HAWORTH WATER TREATMENT PLANT
United Water will celebrate 50 years of outstanding water quality from its Haworth Water Treatment Plant at a public open house on Saturday, October 3 beginning at 10 A.M. The event, which will be held at 200 Lake Shore Drive in Haworth, New Jersey, will feature a short ceremony followed by public tours, which will include newly-designed, touch-screen learning displays, and water education games for children. There will also be fire and utility trucks on hand, as well as refreshments.
CAL RIPKEN SR. FOUNDATION HONORS UNITED WATER
United Water, which provides water and wastewater services nationwide, is proud to announce that it has received the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation’s 2013 Perfect Practice Award for community support. The award recognizes United Water for its ongoing support of character-building programs offered to thousands of at-risk youths through Boys and Girls Clubs located within United Water’s service areas.
