BOISE, ID January 13, 2012 – Registration is now open for a series of free water-efficient landscaping classes. The sessions, sponsored by United Water Idaho, the City of Boise, and the University of Idaho Extension, will teach homeowners how to incorporate the principles of xeriscape landscaping and water conservation practices in their yards and gardens.
The four class sessions begin February 6 and will be held at the Boise Public Library (715 S. Capitol Boulevard). The class schedule is as follows:
February 6 – Improving your soil and Composting
February 13 – Xeriscape Concepts & Landscaping with Adaptive Plants
February 22 – Choosing the Right Plant
February 27 – Caring for a Water-Wise Landscape
Instructors are recognized experts in their fields from the U of I Extension, the City of Boise and the Idaho Botanical Garden.
Each class runs two hours, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and will be held in the community room in the library.
