Pursuant to NJAC 7:30 (NJDEP Pesticide Control Regulations), United Water New Jersey will apply copper sulfate to the Oradell, Lake Tappan, and Woodcliff Lake reservoirs. In order to control algal populations, copper sulfate will be applied as Triangle Brand Copper Sulfate Crystal (EPA Reg. No. 1278-8) through December 31, 2006 on an as needed basis.

Pesticide application dates are posted on our news page when we treat the reservoirs for taste and odor concerns.

Applications are conducted under the supervision of United Water New Jersey employee Pesticide Applicator License No. 27238B. Applications are made on the Lake Tappan and Woodcliff Lake reservoirs through the use of a boat and made on the Oradell Reservoir through the use of a boat or a stationary piping system.
