United Water Opens 19 Convenient Payment Centers For Jersey City Customers New locations to accept cash, check or money orders JERSEY CITY, NJ, February 25, 2004 — United Water and Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) officials announced that starting today all Jersey City residents will be able to pay their water and sewer bills in person at a small retail store in their neighborhood. This new program expands the number of places that residents can pay their water and sewer bills from two to 19. “We’re pleased that United Water has offered our residents this convenient way of paying their water and sewer bills,” said Tom Kane, executive director of the JCMUA. “In many instances these retail shops have business hours well into the evening. This helps out our residents because they can bring their payments to these stores at times more convenient to their schedules.” According to Jim Glozzy, general manager of United Water, Jersey City residents will need to bring their bill stub to the store along with cash, check or a money order made out to the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority. No credit cards will be accepted. Residents will then receive a receipt indicating that payment has been made. The payment is automatically reported to United Water. Residents can verify payment by calling United Water’s customer service at 1-800-575-4433 during normal weekday business hours.
