United Water Connecticut

Who we are

United Water Connecticut was founded in 1956 when it began operating its three main facilities: the former New Milford, Newtown and Woodbury water companies. These three companies were later merged into one company, which is now United Water. Smaller, developer owned water systems began to be purchased in 1990, a practice which continues today.

Our parent company, United Water provides water and wastewater services to 7 million people in the United States. In addition to owning and operating regulated utilities, United Water Resources operates municipal water and wastewater systems through public-private partnerships and contract agreements.

United Water Resources is a subsidiary of Suez, a global leader in energy, water and waste services.

United Water seeks to be the premier water services company in North America. The "premier" designation is never ours to claim or own. We earn it only through the eyes of our customers, our employees and the communities where we operate. And every day we must earn it all over again.

Our corporate logo, the water star, symbolizes our mission to be premier. The individual drops represent what we strive to provide our customers--pure, clean water and stellar service.
