About United Water Toms River
Every day, more than 125,000 people in the Township of Dover (Toms River only), the Borough of South Toms River, and the Holiday City and Silver Ridge Park sections of the Township of Berkeley depend upon United Water for clean, healthy water services.
Since 1897, United Water Toms River has played a key role in providing safe, reliable drinking water to this area.We operate the public water supply system which provides potable water for domestic use and fire protection to approximately 50,000 residential,commercial and industrial customers within the service territory.

Our operations are regulated by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJ BPU) and the New Jersey Departmental of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
Water delivered to United Water Toms River customers is currently derived from twenty in service production wells and two Aquifer Storage Recovery wells. The water flows through a network system that includes 520 miles of main, 10 storage tanks, approximately 3,300 hydrants and 7,300 valves.
Average daily consumption is 13.6 MGD (million gallons per day). In the summer months, when the demand is high, customers may also receive water from interconnections with New Jersey American Water Company at Lakewood and Manchester Township Water Utility.
