United Water will host its third informative meeting about upcoming bid opportunities in Jackson, MS. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at the Mississippi Small Business Development Center (MSBDC) at Jackson State University’s E-Center/California Room located at 1230 Raymond Road, Jackson, MS. Local suppliers can learn about United Water’s scope of services, its supply chain process and procedures, upcoming bids, and community outreach focus.
Two competitive bid events were launched in the middle of March and three more are planned for later in 2011. The previous pre-bid meetings were held at United Water’s Savanna Plant and the City’s Hood Building. Ann Baker, United Water’s supply chain manager, is encouraged by the initial experiences. “The business owners of Jackson, MS, welcomed us with open arms,” she said. “It has been a pleasure to lead the supply chain efforts. I look forward to our continued efforts with both supply chain and within the community.”
Current bids include the following: chemical, maintenance, polymer, security, land application and janitorial. Minority suppliers are encouraged to register with the City’s Equal Opportunity Business (EOB) Office and bring their business cards. Details about RFQs and deadlines will be addressed.
