United Water Toms River Granted Increase In Water RatesThe New Jersey State Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has approved an increase in water rates for residential and commercial customers of United Water Toms River, which serves approximately 120,000 residents in Toms River, South Toms River and Berkeley. The typical residential customer, using an average of 5,300 gallons of water per month, will see an average bill increase of $6.75 a month or approximately 22 cents per day. The settlement was approved yesterday by the Watershed Review Board, which consists of the Commissioners of the Board of Public Utilities, Department of Environmental Protection, and the Department of Consumer Affairs.

United Water And Jersey City Agree To 10-Year Water ContractUnited Water announced today that the company has been awarded a new contract to operate the City of Jersey City, New Jersey’s water system for the next 10 years. Under the terms of the agreement, United Water will manage the treatment plant, watershed, aqueduct, and distribution system and provide customer service, meter reading and billing services.
