    UNITED WATER ISSUES ANNUAL REPORT ON DRINKING WATER

    United Water announced today that it has completed mailings of the annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) to its customers. The report provides details about the quality of drinking water provided to customers during 2010.
    “We’re pleased to advise our customers that our water continues to meet or exceed all state and federal regulations for safe drinking water,” said Jim Glozzy, vice president and general manager.

    JCMUA AND UNITED WATER SCHEDULE TEMPORARY WATER SHUTDOWN FOR NEWPORT AREA

    United Water and the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) announced that a 30-inch water main on 18th Street in Jersey City will be shut down from 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26. During that time, customers in the Newport area may have no water, low water pressure or discolored water.

    JCMUA AND UNITED WATER SCHEDULE NEWPORT WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

    United Water and the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) announced today that a major water system improvement project is set to begin on Monday, April 18. Officials explained that a 30-inch water transmission main, scheduled to be installed on 18th Street, will improve water service and reliability for customers in the Newport area.

    United Water Jersey City Schedules Water Main Shutdown May 11

    On Tuesday, May 11, United Water will temporarily shut down a transmission main which serves all parts of downtown Jersey City except the Newport area. During that time crews will replace a broken valve in the vicinity of Christ Hospital. The repairs, which will begin at about 9 a.m., should be completed by the evening.

    United Water, one of the leading providers of water and wastewater services in the nation, today announced it had reached agreement with the City of East Providence, RI, for a 10-year, design-build-operate (DBO) contract for the city’s wastewater collection and treatment facilities, which provide service to roughly two-thirds of East Providence’s 50,000 residents.

    United Water Repairs Water Mains in Jersey City Heights

    United Water emergency crews are working to repair six small main breaks which occurred in the Heights section of Jersey City earlier today. Company officials advise that most customers have water and there is sufficient water for fire fighting and other uses. However, residents on upper levels of high rise buildings may have low water pressure or no water.

    United Water And Jersey City Agree To 10-Year Water Contract

    United Water announced today that the company has been awarded a new contract to operate the City of Jersey City, New Jersey’s water system for the next 10 years. Under the terms of the agreement, United Water will manage the treatment plant, watershed, aqueduct, and distribution system and provide customer service, meter reading and billing services. The final contract terms have been submitted to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Local Finance Board for review and approval.
