United Water Jersey City Schedules Water Main Shutdown For May 26-28On Wednesday, May 26, United Water will temporarily shut down a transmission main which serves all parts of downtown Jersey City except the Newport area. During that time crews will replace a leaking section of a 36 –inch water main located on the Newark Avenue Bridge. The repairs, which involve replacing an 18-foot section of the main, will be completed by Friday evening.

United Water And Jersey City Agree To 10-Year Water ContractUnited Water announced today that the company has been awarded a new contract to operate the City of Jersey City, New Jersey’s water system for the next 10 years. Under the terms of the agreement, United Water will manage the treatment plant, watershed, aqueduct, and distribution system and provide customer service, meter reading and billing services.
