The Real Facts

Food & Water Watch and the National UWUA Alliance

Food & Water Watch
Food & Water Watch is a special interest group based in Washington, DC. According to their agenda, United Water and private companies don’t belong in the water industry.  They are actively trying to ruin the reputation of the company and its employees despite our 140+ year record of excellent service.

National UWUA
Leaders of the Utilities Workers Union of America (UWUA) at the National level support the Food & Water Watch campaign. They have publicly stated that our regulated businesses should be in the hands of municipal operators. They are aligned internationally with Public Service International (PSI) an affiliation of global unions dedicated to ending private or for profit water companies.

The Bottom Line
Our employees currently provide services through 200 contracts and 20 regulated utilities nationwide. If Food & Water Watch has its way, there will be no contract operations and our regulated utilities would be taken over by municipalities. This means that our employees could become municipal workers.
