    United Water officials are urging customers to take extra precaution in protecting themselves and their property in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Although the company is not aware of any recent activity, scam artists sometimes pose as United Water or other utility employees. This is not uncommon especially when there is widespread damage following a storm. These imposters attempt to gain access to homes in order to engage in criminal activity.

    Rate Relief Sought to Recover Investments in Quality and Service

    Officials from United Water Delaware have filed an application with the Delaware Public Service Commission requesting rate relief to allow United Water Delaware to continue to meet stricter water quality regulations and ensure the continued safety and reliability of the water system. If approved, the request would result in an increase of approximately 15 cents per day or $4.50 per month for a typical residential customer using 14,000 gallons of water.

    United Water Signs 10-Year Contract With East Providence To Upgrade And Operate City's Wastewater Facilities

    United Water, one of the leading providers of water and wastewater services in the nation, today announced it had reached agreement with the City of East Providence, RI, for a 10-year, design-build-operate (DBO) contract for the city’s wastewater collection and treatment facilities, which provide service to roughly two-thirds of East Providence’s 50,000 residents.

    United Water Delaware Files For Rate Relief With Public Service Commission

    For the second time in 11 years, officials from United Water Delaware have filed an application with the Delaware Public Service Commission requesting cost recovery through an increase in the company’s base water service rates.   If the increase is approved as proposed, a bill for a typical residential customer using 16,000 gallons of water per quarter would go up by about 13.7 cents per day or $4.11 per month.
