United Water, one of the leading providers of water and wastewater services in the nation, today announced it had reached agreement with the City of East Providence, RI, for a 10-year, design-build-operate (DBO) contract for the city’s wastewater collection and treatment facilities, which provide service to roughly two-thirds of East Providence’s 50,000 residents.

For the second time in 11 years, officials from United Water Delaware have filed an application with the Delaware Public Service Commission requesting cost recovery through an increase in the company’s base water service rates. If the increase is approved as proposed, a bill for a typical residential customer using 16,000 gallons of water per quarter would go up by about 13.7 cents per day or $4.11 per month.
Officials from United Water Delaware, elected officials and community leaders joined together to commemorate the company’s 75th Anniversary of delivering reliable, safe water to the residents of New Castle County. The celebration was held at United Water Delaware’s Stanton facilities.
