United Water offers a comprehensive employee benefits package that allows you to choose from a selection of health plans and improve your financial outlook via our 401(k) and company-funded pension plan. United Water offers medical coverage, effective on your date of hire, which allows you to select the level of coverage you prefer. A choice of three plans, administered by United Healthcare, offers coverage based upon the following categories:
- Employee only
- Employee plus 1
- Employee plus family
HMO plans are offered in specific locations.
United Water has designed a variety of additional health-related options to improve the lives of our employees and their families.
- Critical Illness This is an optional complement to your health coverage, providing financial support in the event you or a dependent experience one of six covered illnesses.
- Dental Plan Employees may choose from a PPO or a DMO plan.
- Vision Plan This plan provides coverage for eye exams, lenses and frames as well as discount for Lasik surgery.
- Flexible Spending Account This account allows employees to pay for certain health and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars (money that is deducted from pay before income and Social Security taxes are deducted).
- Long Term Disability Insurance This optional plan is designed to replace a portion of your income (up to 60%) in certain circumstances involving an illness, injury or disability.
- Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Employees may choose from a variety of coverage plans which provide enhanced financial security to their families.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) This is a confidential, professional counseling program for employees and their dependents with services including substance abuse, loss/grief, family communication and more.

Any or all of these benefits may be changed, eliminated, or replaced in accordance with the terms of the particular benefit plans.

Employees may invest in United Water's 401(k) Retirement Plan through convenient payroll deductions. United Water will match 50% of the first 6% (match may differ by location). 401(k) investments from previous employers may be rolled over into this account.
